INKREDIBLE

A Higly Advanced Technology Becomes a Brand

!NKREDIBLE is describing the way of production of the inks, respectively their pigments. The chromatic inks from those sets contain pigments that are manufactured using a particular technology.

Chromatic pigments are forming as fairly small particles in a wet, water-based environment, by composition of certain chemicals. After they are precipitated, they need to be separated from water and remaining unprocessed components by filtering and - looking at the conventional pigment production - subsequent drying.

During drying, the single pigment particles are loosing their distance due to the absence of the water, creating growingly large particles which have to be dispersed and crushed again, when grinding the dried pigment with the vehicle at high energy expense to make printing ink.

Drying pigment also requires a lot of energy. Following the !NKREDIBLE process, the drying step is skipped and special varnishes are mixed with the still wet, very fine particle pigment. The goal is to replace all water around the pigment by varnish and decant the water after it has separated on top of the new mixture.

Although this manufacturing technology also needs quite a bit of time, energy and experience, the benefits are omnibus:

  • energy is saved, lowering the carbon footprint of the ink
  • the pigment particles are homogenously fine
  • colours are vibrant and very intensive
  • pigments show excellent transparency

Reap the benefits of our !NKREDIBLE inks family.

Gecko Frontal Alu

Mono solvent printing inks for flexible packaging

A full colour range of pigmented nitrocellulose printing inks, designed for gravure printing applications on aluminium and plastic foils. This series is also available as a mono solvent ink series (Gecko Frontal Alu MS).

Application

Flexible packaging for food and beverage products. The Gecko Frontal Alu Series is specific for aluminium but can also be used for surface printing on chem PET, acrylic-coated-BOPP, paper and BOPP. It can be used on BOPP for lamination. The lamination bond depends on the substrate quality, on the type of adhesive and the amount applied. Evaluate before printing that the surface treatment of PP is ≥ 38 dynes/cm. When printed on PP (except in the case of Acrylic coated PP), all the inks of the series should be activated with our recommended Adhesion promoter in the amount of 5% (please consult technical team for the same.

Use in surface printing

Gecko Frontal Alu can be used for the applications of external standard printing. When not protected by over print varnish we suggest to add our special Additive Wax Paste in the amount of 2-4% in order to assure greater scratch resistance. This additive increases the scratch and rub resistance but does not have to be added for applications intended for lamination. If the application requires high mechanical resistance or bears high blocking risk, the use of a dedicated Gecko Frontal ink series is strongly recommended. For applications where ink-to-ink contact may occur (such as in folded packages, or where packages are stacked) Gecko® Frontal Alu should not be used.

Print Process

Rotogravure for surface printing and lamination.

Fountain Solutions

Product Image

Fountain Solution Concentrates

We Consider the Word "Solution" as Most Important

Fountain solution is frequently underestimated what influence on offset printing is concerned. The correct product is as important as adequate maintenance. Whereas it is pretty simple to have a supplier recommend the best product, it is quite a bit more complicated to establish an effective maintenance and monitoring plan for keeping up undisturbed production and stable print quality.

Most competitors are offering only ink or only dampening additives, and many of them don't even produce or know about formulations. hubergroup is developing and producing both, ink and fountain solution concentrates - and in addition to that, we offer seminars on how to deal with the challenge of checking, monitoring and maintaining fountain solutions.

It goes without saying, that water analysis and recommendations are part of the daily routine in hubergroups service package. Knowing the chemistry of the ink and the water, including all their interactions, makes our packages to be so successful. Sometimes we hear that we are not as cheap as others, but with respect to price-value relation, our customers wouldn't agree.

Enhance your productivity with the perfect package of performance! See some of our most powerful allrounders below and ask for specials if you can't find a product matching your application.

!NKREDIBLE REVOLUTION

The revolutionary heatset ink series

!NKREDIBLE REVOLUTION is the high-gloss formulation of the inks series family based on !NKREDIBLE printing-ink technology.
When the hubergroup introduced its HIT technology in the mid 1990s, the Group succeeded in generating printing inks that, thanks to the optimum coordination of the formulations and production processes, set the standard for the heatset sector over a period spanning some ten years.
The global expansion undergone by the hubergroup now allows it to rigorously pursue this path fur ther The systematic exchange of know-how and genuinely high level of cooperation practised bet ween the Group’s chemical and process engineers all around the world, together with innovative ideas on raw-material synthesis and on ink formulation, laid the perfect foundation for the new !NKIREDIBLE generation of printing inks, which takes full account of the continuous developments on the press side of the business and the increased demands with respect to process standardisation.
Special hard resins, pigments whose surface characteristics have been optimised and new produc tion technology form the basis of the !NKREDIBLE ink systems, which guarantee exceptional printing stability and fantastic results.
!NKREDIBLE technology inks fulfil all the demands the latest generation of high-speed printing pres ses make on printing inks, whether it be for jobs in which the quantity of ink transferred is low and the degree of ink emulsification is high or jobs with extreme requirements with regard to print contrast. The !NKREDIBLE heatset series guarantee optimum print results every time, in every situation.
Highly transparent and pure pigments enable us to satisfy the specifications of DIN ISO 2846-1 and! or 12 647-2, an also degree of variation in dot gain between the four process colours guarantees a neutral grey balance without dot loss in the production run.
REVOLUTION ¡s the name of the heatset series that meet all the demands made on heatset inks today. The inks’ high degree of gloss, in combination with colour-intensive, pure hues and ideal trapping characteristics, guarantees fantastic and highly impressive levels of con trast. The balanced quality of !NKREDIBLE REVOLUTION is available in two series, each with three different tack levels, specially formulated to suit the press configuration, length and output of the dryer unit and the type of job.
The inks of the H 50 series meet the high and varied demands of a wide spectrum of commer cially available substrates.
The H 20 series is an ink system that has been specially developed for substrates with a high level of oil absorption and correspondingly qualified drying characteristics.
The H 56 series unites the properties of the H 50 series with the properties required to meet the rub-resistance demands of mall-coated stocks.

INK Active Drier

Product Image

INK Active Drier

Ink additive for accelerating oxidative drying

Application

INK Active Drier is delivering oxygen when usually there is hardly any available, allowing normal drying times on poor or non-absorbent substrates.

With a reaction of water, oxygen is released inside of the ink film layer. The ink dries from the inside to the outside, faster than it would without additive.

Special Properties

  • Addition: 1-3% in weight
  • Decreases drying time on non-absorbent substrates noticeably
  • Improves scratch and scuff resistance of inks
  • Reduces waiting time until post print finishing
  • Lowers risk of marking in the pile

Your Benefits

Reducing drying times on poor or non-absorbent substrates is important for processing the printed matter in time. Drying times under challenging conditions can decrease as much as 50-80%. Still, please consider that even with adding INK Active Drier, drying to the core on a non-absorbent stock can sometimes take more than 48 hours.

Product Profile

Additives can produce opposite effect than desired, if not strictly used for the intended purpose and in prescribed concentration. All advice should be strictly followed. See the technical information for further instructions.
